Origin and Purpose of the Guidebook
The Opus Dei Guidebook came first. https://sites.google.com/a/realcatholiconline.org/the-opus-dei-guidebook/
As of this writing, it's not even ready for launch online. Doing this forum was easier, and also needed, but the Guidebook is a labor of love because few people can really wade through 200 pages of the Code of Opus Dei and figure out the way it works. The ODG is designed to make the facts easily accessible to the English-speaking public.
There are those who do know what Opus Dei is and sincerely believe in it. There are those who know what Opus Dei is and are appalled by it. But the fact is very few really do know what Opus Dei is, including a large number of people who are members of one sort or another.
If we don't really know what a thing is, how do we decide if we are for it or against it or don't care? I want people to now what it is and how it works. I hope the site and the forum help do that.
